Just For Son

I love that face.

Son has been in a rut the past few days. He's been a bit negative {but, so have I}, a bit ornery, {but, so have I}, a bit pretentious... {you know where this is going}. So I called my mom for some advice after Son made some disparaging remarks.

Me: {With a little desperation in my voice.} "What do I do?"

Mom: {Thoughtful breath.} "Well maybe you should do something just for him. You know, spend some time together."

Spend some time together? I spend ALL of my time with him. But then it hit me. Just for him. Oh my sweet boy.

So today we are off to do things Son wants to do. We are making a list & going to accomplish as many as possible & then cross them off with his favorite blue crayon. We'll laugh, eat & not worry about being anywhere else all day. It'll be just us kids. And after having a fun filled day in the eyes of a 4-year-old, I'm hoping we'll all come home & be ready for a nice long nap! {That's for sure on my list.}

Enjoy your weekend. And do something just for them.

Here's some ideas to get you thinking.

  1. Thanks for the great ideas. I had this same thing the other day with McKenna and it's amazing how much better both of you feel! Awesome.
