Breath & Remember Why...

Some days it's too hot. Some days the scale should be tossed out with all the other rubbish. Some days I forget how important I am.

Not today.

Today I realize exactly how blessed I am. I realize "I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul."

So what.
So what
if Dot pooped in her pants... It'll clean.

So what if Son has eight freaking cavities... They'll fill. {I swear we brush everyday.}
So what if my neighbor doesn't like me... I can serve them.
So what if I can't get to washing the baseboards this month... They'll keep.
So what if our family has its problems... I have a family.
So what if I haven't shaved my legs in a week... Their blond.
So what if my house doesn't have 4 bedrooms... I have a home.
So what if my boobies sag... Husband still like em.
So what if I don't agree with government policies... I can vote.
So what if my winter grass is died & gone... I have a lawn.
So what if I don't always have the right answer... I can learn.
And on & on & on...

This poem is a classic & always proffers no matter my circumstance. I always have the power & ability to choose my attitude. I have the luxury of having a voice & following my inner compass. No matter how challenging or difficult my situation, I have the right to choose to be better. And this right is a gift.

"Invictus"
by William Earnest Henley

Out of the night that covers me
black as the pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be
for my unconquerable soul

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud
Under the bludgeonings of chance
my head is bloody, but unbowed

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
looms but the horror of the shade
and yet the menace of the years
finds, and shall find me, unafraid

It matters not how strait the gate
how charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul

Today's lesson: So what? Bring it.
